Georgia A-Scary-Um

We have had a busy week and have definitely gotten a lot of use out of Harrison's halloween costume!  We had a big outing to the Georgia Aquarium because they were having a halloween event where the kids got in free if they were dressed up in a costume.  The kids had a blast and they were all mesmerized by the fish, even though the beluga whales and otters were "on vacation"!  It was hard to take pictures because there were so many people there and the lighting is kind of dark.
When you first walk into the aquarium, they have a wall on either side of you, both full of these fish...pretty cool and Harrison was fascinated by them!  It was hard to get him to move on to the other exhibits.

Trying to get the kids to hold still for a group photo-op proved to be no easy task.  They all kept falling off the wall and there were tons of people around.

Tailgating Treats

On Sunday, we rushed back from a crazy weekend in Tuscaloosa to take Harrison to our church's annual Tailgating Treats.  Harrison is a skeleton this year, and in my opinion, the cutest thing ever!  We took Harrison last year, but he wasn't old enough to trick-or-treat yet.  I wasn't sure if he would understand the concept of it, but he caught on pretty quickly.  He was mostly in awe of all the older kids and their costumes.  I have to admit that I helped guide him to my favorite candies, but he has to learn somehow!

Harrison's favorite part was putting the treats in his bag.  After a while, we had to trail behind him because his bag got so full that candy kept falling out.  He wouldn't let us hold the bag though - he wants to do EVERYTHING by himself right now!  I don't have any idea where he gets it from! ;)

Our friends, The Eubanks, were setup in costume and all.  Clearly by this point, Harrison had it down pat...no need to wait for mom!  I think by this point, he was thinking "keep it moving lady, quit talking!"

After all that hard work, time to enjoy a piece of chocolate!

And you can't miss the hay ride!  Harrison was more excited about the juice box than the hay ride.  He wouldn't put it down for a second.  What a fun afternoon!  Next up, a home-cooked meal from grandma!

The Adventures of Jack & Harrison

After a fun homecoming weekend in Tuscaloosa, my sister's 2 1/2 year old son, Jack, came to stay with us for a week.  We had a great time and Jack was such a big help - its so nice having kids around that can talk and will do what you ask them to!  We had quite a week, going to the zoo, going to the library, playing with "choo choos", jumping on pillows...here are a few of the highlights of the week.

We made it to the zoo the following morning and first up were the stinky flamingos.  Jack thought they were pretty cool!

Next up were the Vultures.  Thank goodness they are caged in - those are some mean looking birds!

The boys really liked the Elephants, or really I should say, Elephant.  A lot of the animals weren't out that day, so we didn't get to see very much.

The next day we went for a walk at the park and played on the playground.  Jack and Harrison had fun, but their favorite thing was watching tv in my room and jumping on the pillows I setup for them on the floor....

 

We had such a fun week, Harrison keeps saying Jack's name...I think he is pretty sad to have his buddy gone.  At least it will only be a few weeks until they get to play again!

Alabama Homecoming

I went to my first tailgate of the season, for the Alabama vs. South Carolina homecoming game.  We had so much fun, and Harrison was thoroughly entertained by the bonfire, pep rally and parade!  Here are a few captured moments of fun!

Quick Weekend in Cincy

We had a quick trip up to Cincinnati for my cousin Chad's wedding, but Harrison was a trouper throughout both of the long car rides!  I forgot to take my camera to the wedding, but here are few pictures of Harrison being silly before we left.  He always has so much fun at his grandmommy & granddaddy's house!

October Fun

Now that we are having such beautiful weather (mixed in with torential rains!), we have been able to get outside quite a bit.  Harrison has been having so much fun going to the zoo, the park, and Marietta Square...here are a few pics so far!
I'm still not sure how it happened, but we were somehow able to get Harrison and all of his buddies to sit down for a few pictures.  I think the kids got a kick out of us trying to make them smile...Thanks Kiera for sending me the pic...someday I will remember my camera!

We took Harrison down to Marietta Square on Saturday morning to check out the farmers market.  It was a beautiful morning, we will definitely be going back soon!

This morning, I read in a weekly email that I get about child development, that Harrison is now at the age where he can start doing finger paint.  The email gave a recipe to make your own, so I put down some wax paper and let him go to town. He had so much fun, it was such a great idea!

One of our favorite activities is the Hands On Children's Museum in Atlanta.  Target sponsors the 2nd Tuesday of every month, so its free!  Harrison loves anything that involves splashing in water.  Here is he fishing for duckies...

We're going to the fair...

Lance, Harrison and I made a night of going to the North Georgia State Fair that was held in Marietta.  It was a fun night filled with corn dogs and funnel cakes.  Harrison was a little too small (and afraid) of the rides, so we just made it a night of people watching!  Lance took Harrison on the carousel, and unfortunately, as you can see from the pictures, Harrison was not the biggest fan!  He was fine until it started moving, then the screaming began!
