Summer Fun & Baby Shower

We have been having such a fun summer so far and I've been enjoying every minute I get to spend with Harrison before baby Davis gets here.  We are so excited to meet Davis, but I'm trying to make sure Harrison and I get plenty of fun in before the attention shifts!  I have been keeping my camera in my car so I don't forget to take it to the hospital when Davis arrives, so I haven't been the best at remembering to take pictures lately!  Here are a few funny pictures of Harrison that we've taken lately:

When we don't have time to make it to the neighborhood pool (or when I don't have the energy!!), Harrison loves playing in the baby pool that is in our side courtyard.  We also have a little playset out there and Harrison loves telling me how he is going to push baby Davis in the swing once he is born.

Harrison's favorite toy is definitely his "lawn motor".  He would push it around all day long if I let him.  He especially loves to help Lance when he is cutting the grass.  Here are a few cute pictures of Harrison helping out his daddy...

This one was just too funny not to post.  Harrison loves his froggy boots that his Aunt Julie gave him.  Anytime he sees them, he wants to put them on.  One morning, he woke up and put them on (the wrong feet) and I caught him looking for "my wheats" (frosted mini wheats are his FAVORITE breakfast now!)

Okay, I'm starting to feel like I never have Harrison in normal outfits, judging by all of the pictures I'm posting right now, but this was another funny moment.  Harrison wanted to wear Lance's socks the other night, and we could not stop laughing once he put them on.  He wasn't into looking at the camera that night, but he looked like he had on leg warmers.

With "baby Davis" on the way and due any day now, a few of my friends were so sweet and threw a baby shower for me.  I should have assigned my mom to camera duty b/c I didn't get a single picture of anyone there, but I was able to get a picture of the beautiful table and decorations.  It was an ice cream theme, so they had an ice cream bar set up for everyone to make their own sundaes.  It was such a cute idea, and I definitely enjoyed the ice cream (2 helpings worth - one for me, and one for Davis! :))
Thank you again to Kiera, Renee and Kristin for throwing such a nice shower and thank you to everyone who was able to make it. I had such a great time and can't wait to introduce Davis to everyone...hopefully sooner rather than later!!

One last trip...

Since our 2nd bundle of joy will be arriving at the beginning of July (or hopefully, end of June!), and since my parents are planning on moving down south, hopefully this summer, due to my dad's retirement in June, I thought I needed to take a trip back up to Cincinnati to soak in all the memories of the house I grew up in.  Of all trips to forget a camera, I can't believe this is the one I chose!  grrr!  On top of that, my mom's camera was broken, so we had one completely undocumented trip. 

Harrison and I flew up from Sunday - Sunday of last week and had a great time.  Unfortunately the weather wasn't very cooperative and it rained most days, but we still had a great time.  At this point in pregnancy, any excuse to get to lay low, is a good one!  Harrison had fun playing all week with the toys at my mom's house, watering her plants and helping granddaddy in the backyard.  We got to see our family quite a bit so that was also nice. 

We made one big outing to the zoo and it was killing me not to have my camera.  At the Cincinnati Zoo, they let the peacocks just roam around and while we were eating, one of the male peacocks came over to the picnic tables and spread his feathers for everyone.  I heard there was a female nearby, so he was trying to "court" her, but he did that for over 45 minutes.  Its so rare that you actually see their feathers all fanned out, so that was a neat experience for Harrison - he loved it!  I just wish I had a picture to show you all!

The unfortunate part of the trip is that he entered into a mama's boy phase the moment the plane landed and would scream if anyone else tried to put him down for a nap or put him to bed at night.  I know my mom and dad love helping out with that, so hopefully this phase will end soon.  Lance is still trying to get him to warm up to him this week.  Its amazing the phases that they go through, hopefully this one is short-lived!

Overall we had a great time and Harrison is still asking to go back to grandmommy's (pronounced ma-ma-mommy) house.  I'm not sure what the time frame will be for my parents moving, but I hope I can make it back once more before the house sells.  Its so hard to imagine not having the house that I grew up in since I was 4 yrs old, to go home to!  Sorry for the lack of pics, but I just wanted to make sure we documented the trip somehow!

Impromptu Beach Trip!

My sister called me last Tuesday asking if I would be up for an impromptu beach trip and since we have a little one arriving this summer, I figured this would be my last shot to see some sand for a while!  Harrison and I packed our bags and headed out the next afternoon.  We had such a fun trip, Harrison just loves hanging with his cousins, Jack & Trey!  Its so much fun to watch them grow up together, he loves to be a part of the "big kids".  Its hard to take pics of the boys when you're chasing them, but we managed to get a few cute ones!

So far Harrison has not been a fan of the beach and sand, so I was relieved that Harrison, although hesitant at first, finally gave in and played with his cousins in the sand!  He ran around, built sand castles and rolled around as if his fear never existed!  He still wanted nothing to do with the ocean, although I can't blame him!  Poor little guy, hopefully he won't be scarred for life!

This was so strange...in the park in St Andrews by the Bay, there was an old palm tree that had 4 trees growing from one trunk.  Too crazy not to take a pic.

The highlight of Harrison's trip was getting to watch all the boats.  Our house was right next to a marina so there were constantly boats coming in and out.  Every morning when he would wake up, he would say, "I want more boats.  I want to go outside and see boats."

Harrison loves holding his friends' hands right now instead of holding mine when walking down the street.  He and Jack were so cute walking all over town holding hands.

Harrison and I played a game of burying his hands and feet in the sand.  He would pop them through the sand and say "Peekaboo!!".  I still can't believe he would let me do this!

This was so funny...Harrison was running all over the beach so I zoomed my camera and took a few pictures.  At one point he layed down in the sand, head and all...

...but as you can see from the after-shot, I think he learned his lesson!  I'm not sure how much sand he ate, but he tried pulling it out of his mouth, which only made things worse since it was all over his hands.  I have to say, I felt bad for him, but it was pretty funny to watch!

We had such a fun trip, but we were both excited to get back to see Lance/daddy!  Next time we head to the beach, we will be a family of 4, so it was fun to get some one-on-one beach time with my little man!

Firetrucks...finally!

Last Monday, we were finally able to reschedule our firestation tour that was originally planned for Harrison's birthday party in February.  I hate that Lance and a few of his buddies were not able to make it since we did it on a Monday, but hopefully next year's birthday plans will go a little more smoothly!  Harrison had such a great time and warmed up much faster than I expected.  Thankfully the firefighters were very patient with our little ones as they were dancing and running and going crazy as opposed to watching the video and listening to the tour guides!  Our friend Kristin was so nice to let me borrow her camera - of course my batteries died as soon as we got there...grrrrr!  Here are a few pics from the big day.

Playdate Easter Egg Hunt

We had such a fun morning at our weekly playgroup today!  We put together an Easter Egg hunt for the kids and they had so much fun.  Here are a few pics from the morning festivities...

Easter Egg Hunt

Harrison went to his first Easter egg hunt of the year at Swift Cantrell park this past weekend.  We walked over with Kiera, Mary & Brad and made it in perfect timing for the "race" to the eggs to start!  We were at the back of the pack so I was afraid there wouldn't be enough eggs for Harrison & Mary, but after a few minutes, the crowd cleared enough for the kids to fill their baskets.  Harrison wanted to hold all of the candy in his hands, so it was hard to get him to keep the candy in his basket.  Of couse, once he filled his basket, he wanted to eat ALL of it!  I gave in to about 6 - 10 pieces and then the tantrum started once I finally said "no"!  We played on the playground for a while and that helped to cheer him up.  We have 2 more Easter egg hunts this weekend, so he will be a pro by the time Sunday rolls around!  Our batteries died as we got there (of course!), but here are a few pics from the day:

I tend to have a bit of a sweet tooth as well and Harrison was so nice to share his candy with me!  You can see with his cheeks full, he made sure to shove the entire piece of candy in his mouth at once!

All in all, it was fun day!  Windy, but very fun!

And the verdict is....its a boy!!

Looks like we are destined to have boys in our family!  We had our 20 week ultrasound this morning and found out that Harrison is going to have a little brother.  We are so excited, it will be so fun to watch the 2 boys grow up together, and hopefully be best buds!  Here is one of the pictures of the little man!  I made sure not to drink as much orange juice as I did when we went to Harrison's ultrasound.  He was like possessed baby, arching his back and kicking all over the place.  This baby seemed to be much more relaxed, but was so cute waving his hands in the air and trying to suck his thumb!  I wish I could just sit and watch him all day.  Its amazing to see how much they are moving that you don't even feel.
